Eli’s Au-Some Allies

Thank you for coming and supporting Eli on his journey. As Eli's parents, brothers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, we are all Allies for him! And, will continue to love and support in anyway that we can.

This year, we are walking in the 4th annual Autism Hero Walk (Detroit), to support Eli, who was diagnosed in 2016. This autism awareness walk is very close to all our hearts and we appreciate all the support we can get! Together we can make a difference.

The 4th annual Autism Hero Walk will raise funds for crucial programming in the state of Michigan. Autism Alliance of Michigan is leading Michigan on the path to becoming a top 5 state in which to raise a child with autism.

The Autism Alliance of Michigan is powered by the commitment and support from individuals like you. Please help us reach our goal by donating to our team.

Help. Hope. Answers. Today.

Thank you! - Eli's Au-Some Allies.

Backstory of Eli:

Eli was officially diagnosed with Autism just before his 2nd Birthday. He started out in speech therapy and occupational therapy when we began to notice some language delays and frustrations in Eli. He was making some strides in these therapies, but we still had some concerns and so did his therapists. One of our sweet therapists mentioned having Eli go to an Autism Evaluation, and that was one of the best and scariest suggestions that we received in this journey with Eli.

When Eli went to this evaluation and was officially diagnosed with Autism, it opened so many doors for him and our family. I can't stress the importance of early interventions enough! When Eli was first diagnosed at the age of two, he rated as equivalent to a 9 month old. With early intervention, we were able to obtain the speech therapy, ABA therapy, and Early On education that has catapulted him to where he is today at the age of three and a half. He is either caught up with his peers and/or surpassing them in many areas. In the areas such as speech, where he is behind, he is only by a half year at most now.

In addition to ABA therapy and speech therapy, Eli is now in music therapy And, he will be attending his second year of Preschool in the Fall. He is a loving, sweet, and rambunctious 3.5 year old, with the knack for details and photographic memory that most can't contend with.

We are extremely proud of him and amazed at the little boy he is becoming. Our superhero is going places.
